Getting Started & Quotes

What types of signs does SCA Sign Group make?

We provide a wide range of commercial signage, including channel letters, illuminated wall signs, cabinet signs, monument signs, pylon signs, multi-tenant signage, dimensional lettering, interior signage, ADA signage, vinyl graphics, window graphics, banners, and custom signage.

How do I get a quote for a new sign?

Contact us with your business name, project address, type of sign you’re interested in, approximate size, and any artwork or logo files you have available. If you’re not sure what type of sign you need, our team can help recommend options based on your location, branding, budget, and local sign requirements.

Do you charge for estimates?

Standard project estimates are generally provided at no charge. Projects requiring extensive design work, site surveys, engineering, code research, or permit research may require an upfront fee.

What information do you need to provide an accurate quote?

The more information you can provide, the better. Helpful items include your project address, landlord sign criteria, logo files, desired sign type and size, photos of the building or existing sign, electrical availability, and your desired completion timeframe.

Can you help me choose the right type of sign?

Yes. We can recommend signage based on visibility, building architecture, viewing distance, local sign codes, landlord requirements, illumination needs, and budget.

Design & Artwork

Do you offer sign design services?

Yes. Our team can help turn your logo, branding, and ideas into signage that is attractive, functional, code-compliant, and practical to manufacture and install.

What type of artwork files do you need?

Vector artwork is preferred, such as AI, EPS, or vector PDF files. If you don’t have vector artwork, send us what you have and we can determine whether it can be used or recreated.

Will I see a proof before my sign is manufactured?

Yes. Customers receive artwork for review and approval before fabrication begins. This gives you an opportunity to verify spelling, colors, sizing, placement, and overall appearance.

Can you match my company’s brand colors?

Yes. We can work from specified PMS/Pantone colors, paint specifications, vinyl colors, or existing brand standards whenever possible.

Can you recreate my logo if I don't have the original artwork?

In many cases, yes. Depending on the quality of the artwork provided, we may be able to recreate or vectorize your logo. Additional design fees may apply.

Permits & Landlord Approvals

Do I need a permit for my business sign?

Many permanent exterior signs require permits, although requirements vary by city, county, property, and sign type. Some locations also have additional zoning, electrical, engineering, or property-specific requirements.

Does SCA Sign Group handle sign permits?

Yes. We can handle the permitting process for many projects, including preparing required documents, submitting applications, coordinating revisions, and working through the approval process with the appropriate jurisdiction.

Can you research what signage is allowed at my property?

Yes. We can research applicable sign codes and requirements to help determine allowable sign types, sizes, placement, and other restrictions.

What if my landlord or shopping center has its own sign requirements?

We can work with landlord sign criteria and property management requirements. We recommend providing your landlord's signage criteria as early as possible so your sign can be designed accordingly.

Can you obtain landlord approval for me?

We can prepare the drawings and documentation needed for landlord approval and coordinate with property management when included in the project scope. Final approval remains with the landlord or property owner.

What happens if my proposed sign doesn't meet the sign code?

Our team can recommend modifications that may bring the design into compliance. Depending on the jurisdiction and circumstances, a variance or other special approval may also be an option.

Manufacturing & Installation

Are your signs custom made?

Yes. Our commercial signs are built specifically for each project based on approved drawings, dimensions, materials, illumination, mounting conditions, and branding requirements.

Do you manufacture signs in-house?

Yes. SCA Sign Group provides commercial sign fabrication along with installation, allowing us to maintain greater control over quality and the production process.

Do you install the signs you manufacture?

Yes. We provide professional commercial sign installation and have the equipment and experience needed for a wide variety of installation conditions.

Can you install a sign that another company manufactured?

In many cases, yes. We will need to review the sign, installation drawings, mounting requirements, site conditions, and permitting status before accepting an installation-only project.

Do you handle electrical signs?

Yes. We work with illuminated signage, including LED channel letters, illuminated cabinets, monument signs, pylons, and other electrical sign applications.

Can you remove my old sign before installing the new one?

Yes. Existing sign removal can typically be included as part of your project. We can also discuss patching or addressing visible penetrations from previously installed signage.

Timelines

How long does it take to make a commercial sign?

Timelines vary depending on the type and complexity of the sign. Design approval, landlord approval, permitting, engineering, material availability, fabrication, and installation scheduling can all affect the overall timeline.

How long does permitting take?

Permit timelines vary significantly by jurisdiction. Some permits can be issued relatively quickly, while others require multiple reviews, engineering, revisions, or additional approvals. We will keep you informed as your project moves through the process.

When does production begin?

Production typically begins after required artwork, specifications, deposits, landlord approvals, and permits have been completed or received according to the requirements of the project.

Service & Maintenance

Do you repair signs that you didn't manufacture?

Yes. In many cases, we can service signage manufactured or installed by another company.

What types of sign repairs do you handle?

We can address issues such as outages, LED failures, power supply problems, damaged faces, broken letters, faded vinyl, damaged tenant panels, loose components, electrical problems, and other common sign issues.

My sign is partially out. Can you repair it?

Yes. Our service team can troubleshoot the sign to determine whether the issue involves LEDs, power supplies, wiring, electrical service, or another component.

Do you offer preventative sign maintenance?

Yes. Preventative maintenance can help identify lighting, electrical, structural, and cosmetic issues before they become larger problems, particularly for businesses with multiple signs or locations.

Can you replace the LEDs in an existing sign?

Yes. We provide sign service and maintenance and can diagnose issues with LEDs, power supplies, wiring, photocells, and other sign components.

Can you convert an older fluorescent sign to LED?

Often, yes. LED retrofits can improve energy efficiency, reduce maintenance, and provide more consistent illumination. We can evaluate your existing sign to determine whether a retrofit makes sense.

Cost & Payment

How much does a commercial sign cost?

Sign pricing varies considerably based on size, materials, illumination, mounting method, engineering, permitting, installation conditions, equipment requirements, and design complexity. Because commercial signage is highly customized, we recommend requesting a project-specific quote.

Why can two signs that look similar have very different prices?

Small differences in size, construction, materials, LED components, mounting conditions, installation height, engineering, electrical requirements, permitting, and access equipment can significantly affect cost.

Do you require a deposit?

Most custom sign projects require a deposit before permitting, material procurement, or production begins. Payment terms will be outlined in your proposal.

After Installation

Do your signs come with a warranty?

Yes. SCA Sign Group provides a five-year warranty on our workmanship. Certain manufactured components may also carry separate manufacturer warranties.

What should I do if there is a problem with my sign after installation?

Contact our team with your business name, location, photos if available, and a description of the issue. We will help determine the appropriate next step.

Can you service multiple business locations?

Yes. We can coordinate signage, installation, and service needs across multiple locations, making it easier for businesses and property managers to maintain consistent branding.
